How are you able to tell when your main wing will stall?

Some time back; maybe a year or more, Scott Baker described a procedure for
testing approach to deep stall condition. Maybe you can find it in the
archives. Basically, as I recall it; test fly with progressively further
aft CG until you sense that the nose becomes light, or wants to go up as you
approach stall. But best you read his words. And probably not something to
try unless you are very experienced about how your plane reacts and 'feels'.
And best to have plenty of altitude and maybe some significant weight that
you can shift forward when needed.
