Lou - more on golf cart tugs --

 

There are a number of golf carts being used here as tugs for aircraft, both
small and large (up to King Airs).  We get receivers installed on both the
front and the back of the golf carts so you can push (into a hangar) or pull
(like up to the gas pumps) an aircraft.  Most also have an extra pair of
seats in the back (where the clubs would normally be) that are on a hinge so
you can fold them down to add a flat 'storage platform' on the back, when
needed.  Here's a link to a guy in town who sells them (and I think delivers
all over the country) re-furbed (or new?) golf carts for use as aircraft
tugs - the owner's name is Mike Seamon  [407-295-3279] and you should be
able to get a cleaned-up used one for less than $3000:

One of the tugs at our airport is an electric golf cart using the same tow
bar that the regular tugs use.

Hi group

 

I would like your input on a purchase of an aircraft tug. Our Olean Airport
Support Group has decided to purchase, for the airport, a small aircraft
tug. The aircraft we need to move are small single engine Pipers, Cessna,
RV, etc. We are looking for a hand operated tug which will work on the above
aircraft with wheel pants. Can you give me any recommendations?
