REFLECTOR: Electronic Ignition

Hi Jim,

I have an E-Mag and it has worked flawlessly since I put it in.  I did the extra wiring so I have a switch to change between 34 & 39 degree advance at start-up as well as a rs232 connection so I can hook up my laptop and do a checkup on the e-mags operation.  I have it set for one revolution to purge the sump when starting and it starts instantly after the one revolution.  I do get a little more static RPM and the engine seems to run smoother.  It also looks like slightly less fuel flow on my gage.

I love it and it is easy to install and great support.

Jim

Subject: REFLECTOR: Electronic Ignition

I  am going to try replacing one Mag on my IO360 Lycoming with an electronic ignition. Have replaced both slick mags in the first 320 hours of flying. One at about 190 hrs and one about 320 hours.
I am considering the e mag. Looks to be a plug & play operation and also has the included alternator for power. I would appreciate any comments, advise or opinions as to which unit is the best.  Is the heat in the engine compartment a problem, . My temperature under the cowl runs about 172 degrees F in the summer.
Thanks
Jim  173 RG  380 hrs.
